Paul Jones. Photographer.

After many years of retouching others peoples photographs, thousands of photographs in fact, I decided I'd like to be the one behind the camera for a change and see how it felt to be in control. I always felt very limited retouching other peoples work, I had very little control over the creative vision. That all changed when I got my first DSLR and I have not looked back since. I try not to limit my creativity to one aspect of photography but as you will see looking at my work, landscapes and seascapes are my passion. This means early starts, a lot of patience and a lot of disappointment when the elements work against you, but there is no better feeling that when it all comes together and all your hard work pays off. One of my favourite quotes, which appears on the main page of this site, is by the legendary Ansel Adams; "Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer - and often the supreme disappointment." How true this is. The driving force in my work is the constant desire I have to 'chase the light' and I am fortunate to live in a place that provides me on those all too rare, magical moments, with the most wonderful light imaginable. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it...

You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. You can also look at a picture for a second and think of it all your life.
