300/366 • The Suggestion

A friend of mine, a professional photographer whose opinion I trust and respect, suggested I try this in b&w. I initially resisted, as I have a long exposure of this scene in b&w, but his suggestion stuck with me until tonight, when I finally decided to give it a go. I think I prefer the colour version but would love to see what you all think...

Guess I should start uploading some images I missed. There are some many of these portici (covered walkways) in Torino, you can pretty much get from one part of the city to another, in the rain, without getting wet. There are over 16km of them in total. Quite impressive really. I wish i had more time for this, as the light was really good but as is the new norm, I was rushing from one place to another...

Amy (@aspada) pointed this very cool scene out to me when I was in Como. The funny thing was that we framed it exactly the same way, with the window on the left hand side. Great minds think alike I guess...

I'm still struggling to catch up, two months on the road is taking its toll but I really appreciate all the comments and favs. I'll get back on track soon. I hope. :-)

It was also a great opportunity to swap some tips. Even thought our styles differ greatly we both saw this at the same time and as it turns out, we both took and processed the shot in almost exactly the same way...

It was a damp, dull day which made looking for something interesting to shoot a challenge. I then came across this scene and really liked the reflection of the trees in the river Po in Torino. It also gave me the opportunity to do a a b&w which is something I've not done for a while...

It seems I have a few missing days from earlier this month so I've decided to use some from my 365 Lake Como meet-up with Amy. I tried to get a few shots of the water planes landing/taking off but the background was always too busy. This is the only shot I managed to get without anything behind this beautiful Piper (please correct me if I'm wrong)...
